 Need testers!

I need a few to test my 'final' fight part of my map. This one wont spawn the final wave on you, because i've not activated it yet.

This is what I need to know:

Low FPS in any areas?

Do you see the 'sky box' (what'll be just a funny black colour) on any textures?

and just general feedback, on bits you like, bits you don't like. Parts that dont suit, ect.

(how to run this map)

Download the (2) files.

Put them in Left4Dead MAPS in your Left4Dead file. What'll be under steam.

Open up Left4Dead go into options and activate 'Dev Console'

Go back to the menu and press `

Type in: Map 01

Then hit enter.

You'll get an error saying "Map Unplayable Nav Error" but that's totally fine because I've not finished off the Navs yet.


And let me know your feedback! And screenshots would be more than helpful (what can be posted under my new thread in Image recall.

I had to remove/change a lot of textures and effects because of FPS issues, so this one *should* be a lot more smoother. Plus I changed a lot of lights so you can see better.

V3 should be ready for testing soon.

Just a few changes (not full list)

Removed 'steam' effects from starting hall.
Removed red pulse lighting from Final and starting hall.
Changed Final room's water to Biohazard Green with Steam effects.
Removed/Changed Bodies from Side-Pool-Walk, to help stop Zombies and other NPCs getting stuck.
Put up side(s) on Side-Pool-Walk to stop NPCs falling off into the water.
Zombie NPCs can now climb out of the water and attack player.
Zombie NPCs will now spawn in the water.
Changed some textures.
Removed the green lighting from Final.
Made Side-Pool-Walk bigger, so more Zombies and co can fit through.
Removed the smokey box.
Fixed lighting in the starting hall.
Made path into the cross-over-labs bigger so Zombies and Players alike don't fall off into the water.
Fixed Zombie spawn on the over-head-cross.
Added little room for guns in final
Added Overheads for Zombie spawns in finals
Added Overheads in starting area for NPC spawns
Added room where player starts
Starting areas water has been removed. (fixed FPS and crashing issues)
Added Water Treatment Office/Area
If the 'damaged' Metal Detector gets shot at, or damaged in anyway. It'll set off an spawn of Zombies.
Removed Invis wall in the Cross-Over.
Removed the 'dip' in the starting area.
Added 'fade-in' when the level starts.

Big thanks to Syzgy for helping find bugs and giving me ideas.

In the new area part there will be water there, if I can find out *what* keeps crashing my computer.

Shoot the metal detector to set it off.

To run this map open the dev console, and type: map DD_Water_Treatment_Facility.

V4 will be ready soon:


Fixed Water Crashing Client in Water Treatment Office/Area.
Fixed Floor sticking out from Treatment Office.
Re-sized the tunnel entering the Treatment Area.
Water now has LOD control. (will scale it by frame rate.)
Starting area 'tankers' have been removed and some changed around.
Smoke Effects have been adeed to the starting area.
Box props and others have been added to the starting area.
End car in the starting area now sets off a Zombie zerg.
Changed the Textures on the side of the Pool.
Changed the rez on some prop textures to help frame rate.
Removed walls from Overheads to stop Smokers getting stuck.
Changed Texture on Treatment office, and it's flooring.
Changed Texture on the Flooring around the Treatment Office.
New Area has been added, 'Train Elevator.'
Train Area Office has been added.
Water Texture has been changed in Final.
Side's have been removed from Final.
Player Blockers have been put up around the pool in final to stop players fulling in. But Zombies will still fall in and jump out.
Water Treatment textures have been changed again.
What Treatment Office now has new glass textures.
Lighting bug has been fixed in Water Management area.
Some steam effects have been removed and toned down in starting area to help get rid of low FPS.
New Area has been added "Overway Cross-Over."
Oveway Cross-Over has see-through texture.
Oveway now has gun spawn.
Oveway sides have been removed from top. (so if you fall in the water, you die.)
Water Textures have been changed to a nice clear see-through type.
Added Radio in Overway Cross-Over what starts final spawn. (note: it'll keep going because there's no shut off to escape yet)

Fixed Lighting Issues. (hope)
Changed textures near and in Overway Cross-Over.
Changed the size of the 'seating hall' in Overway Cross-Over.
Radio will now spawn final wave.
Starting areas texture has been changed.
Side Office has been removed.
Guns and First Aid has been put in the Overway Cross-Over.
Fixed Invis Walls.
Hall Way Floor Texture has been changed.
Fixed floating bags and boxes.
Removed Bookcase.
Fixed floating Air Con.
Overway Cross-Over Train Station Area has been added.
Final wave will now keep spawning, until players escape, or dead.
Lighting throughout the level has been changed and some removed.
Had to remove shutter going into Train Station Area because of Tanks hitting it and it getting stuck.

Rescue points have been added.
Doors have been added throughout the level.
Train room has been re-sized.
